Designed with the latest quad core 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ processors and complimented by the Mobile Intel® QM77, the TKS-G50-QM77 offers superb graphic performances via Intel® InTru™ 3D Technology and Intel® Clear Video HD Technology, rich connectivity, remote management through Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT) and Intel® Rapid Storage Technology. The 3rd Generation Intel® Core™  processors offer an overall 38% improvement over the previous generation and with a lower thermal envelop, it is a designer’s choice when designing high performance, small embedded devices.


The TKS-G50-QM77 includes the quad core Intel Core i7-3610QE processor with DDR3 1333/1600 SODIMM memory, and the system has a maximum of 8GB memory.  TKS-G50-QM77 features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one CRT (or DVI-I optional), 2-channel High Definition Audio, two SATA 6.0Gb/s (supports RAID 0,1 option), one CFast™, two USB3.0, two USB2.0, four COM, a programmable 8-bit Digital I/O and one Mini Card expansion slot for wireless networking options.  DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.1, OpenCL 1.1 and stereoscopic 3D are supported enhancing up to 50% 3D graphics performance and up to 1.8X real time HD-HD transcode improvements.

For effective remote device management, the free AAEON Hi-Manager program can be installed on each deployed TKS-G50-QM77, allowing BIOS-level remote management from a remote console.  Hi-Manager can also be installed on a TKS-G50-QM77 to monitor other AAEON devices.  For individual device monitoring, the free Hi-Safe program with its user-friendly monitoring interface can be installed.

Group Management using Hi-Manager 
The AAEON Hi-Manager is a powerful tool based on the Intel® AMT A and has backward compatibility with earlier versions of Intel AMT.  This allows users to locate all Intel AMT devices in the intranet, power, set and manage On/Off target devices remotely, recover systems, remote KVM management and access to target device hardware information for asset management.  Hi-Manager can be installed on all AAEON platforms and can remotely manage AAEON client devices that use Mobile Intel® QM77, QM67 and QM57 Express chipsets and run Microsoft® Windows® XP, Window® 7/8 Operating Systems.

Status Monitoring using Hi-Safe

AAEON Hi-Safe is a free and powerful hardware-based program geared toward SDKs for UIs running Microsoft® Windows® Operating systems.  It provides an easy way to develop the end user’s own UI software to monitor vital system information such as those for the processor, RAM and VGA.  It monitors received data from the Super I/O, fan, temperature and voltage, offers configuration options for Digital I/O pin direction and data, provides watchdog timer and fan speed settings, SMBus base address detection and device ID settings, optional monitoring of UPS data information and offers two modes for backlight display control if one uses the LVDS interface.  Based on the user interface SDK, no coding is needed and customers can create their own customized user interface by downloading the function codes provided by AAEON.

AAEON News - Dec.2012 - AAEON Launches the EPIC-CV07 Fanless Low Power EPIC Board for Industrial and Building Automation




(Taipei, Taiwan) December 5, 2012 — AAEON, a leading industrial computing manufacturer, today launched a new onboard Intel® Atom™ D2550/N2600 fanless EPIC board with Intel® NM10 chipset.  It comes equipped with a solid thermal spreader for optimal heat dissipation and offers rich features and connectivity for Industrial and Building Automation applications among many others. The EPIC-CV07 features the latest high efficiency 3rd Generation Intel® Atom™ D2550/N2600 dual core low power processors that has integrated graphics for dual display support, and supports a maximum of 4GB DDR3 800/1066 of system memory. 

The Intel® Atom™ D2550 1.86GHz dual core processor brings new and powerful capability to the fanless EPIC SBC, making it a powerful small form-factor embedded platform for today’s industrial applications that require high performance in small packages. The Intel® Atom™ N2600 1.6GHz dual core fanless processor is equally rich in features, and allows an EPIC SBC that can be fanless and reliable in high temperature and dusty environments. 

The EPIC-CV07 offers a rich array of I/O interfaces, with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one CRT/DVI with resolution support of up to 1920x1200, dual 24-bit single channel LVDS (for D2550 processor) or one 18-bit single channel LVDS (for N2600 processor), one SATA 3.0Gb/s interface, eight serial ports, one optional parallel port or 16-bit programmable digital I/O, seven USB2.0 ports, one 12V DC input, and onboard support for a 4/5-wire resistive touch screen. Mit mehr als 72.000 Besuchern ist heute die 25. electronica, Weltleitmesse für Komponenten, Systeme und Anwendungen der Elektronik, zu Ende gegangen. 2.669 Aussteller aus 49 Ländern präsentierten vier Tage die Zukunft der Elektronikindustrie und zeigten anwendungsbezogene Lösungen. Im Mittelpunkt standen vor allem intelligente und energieeffiziente Technologien aus den Bereichen Energy Storage, LED und Smart Grid. Letzterem Thema widmete sich auch der diesjährige CEO Round Table, der eines der Highlights des Rahmenprogramms war.

Norbert Bargmann, stellvertretender Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der Messe München, zeigt sich mehr als zufrieden mit dem Messeverlauf: „Das Ergebnis bestätigt den Stellenwert, den die Elektronikindustrie als weltweit bedeutendste Wirtschaftsbranche hat. Alle waren da.“ Der Markt unterliegt stets neuen Anforderungen, denen die Hersteller mit intelligenten Lösungen gerecht werden. Zentrales Thema in allen Ausstellungsbereichen waren Lösungen für die Automobilelektronik, deren Anteil in modernen Fahrzeugen immer größer wird: von Steuerelementen für das Energy Harvesting und Batteriemanagement bis hin zu neuen Ladetechniken für Elektrofahrzeuge.

Die Industrie blickt verhalten positiv in das Jahr 2013. Dies bestätigte auch Christoph Stoppok, Geschäftsführer der Fachverbände Electronic Components and Systems sowie PCB and Electronic Systems des ZVEI (Zentralverband der Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie): „Nach einer leichten Talsohle erwarten wir für den Weltmarkt elektronischer Bauelemente ein Wachstum um rund vier Prozent auf 480 Milliarden US-Dollar. Und auch der weltweiten Halbleiterindustrie wird ein Umsatzplus prognostiziert.“

Position gefestigt
Mehr als 72.000 Fachbesucher aus 78 Ländern kamen nach München. Die Besucher waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Verlauf der Messe, wie die Umfrage des Marktforschungsinstituts TNS Infratest zeigt: 95 Prozent bewerteten die Veranstaltung mit ausgezeichnet bis gut.

Zu den Top-Besucherländern zählten neben Deutschland – in dieser Reihenfolge – Italien, Österreich, Großbritannien und Nordirland, die Schweiz, Frankreich sowie die Russische Föderation und die USA. Einen signifikanten Anstieg gab es aus Kanada, der Russischen Föderation, der Türkei, den USA, der Tschechischen Republik, Österreich sowie aus Asien. Nicole Schmitt, Projektgruppenleiterin der electronica: „Die hohe Anzahl internationaler Gäste zeigt erneut, die electronica ist die Weltleitmesse für die Elektronikindustrie.“

2.669 Aussteller aus 49 Ländern präsentierten ihre Produkte und Technologien. Neben Deutschland zählten China, Taiwan, die USA, Großbritannien, Italien, Hongkong, Frankreich, Schweiz und Japan zu den ausstellerstärksten Ländern (in dieser Reihenfolge).

CEO Round Table
Smart Grid ist eines der Zukunftsthemen der Elektronikindustrie. Darin waren sich die Sprecher des diesjährigen CEO Round Tables einig. Die vier Vorstandsvorsitzenden von Infineon Technologies, Freescale Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors  und STMicroelectronics sahen darin eine große Chance für die Halbleiterindustrie: Denn ohne Smart Meter oder Smart Lighting werde man zukünftig keine energieeffiziente Stromversorgung leisten können. Noch steht die Branche vor einigen Herausforderungen. Der Strom muss eingespeist, transportiert und kontrolliert werden. Hierzu sind mehrere Komponenten notwendig, deren Zusammenspiel und Zuverlässigkeit essentiell sind, um am Ende nicht im Dunkeln zu stehen.

AAEON Releases New 3.5” SubCompact Board GENE-HD05 with Superb Graphics for Intelligent Automation Systems

(Taipei, Taiwan) November 19, 2012 — AAEON, a leading industrial computing manufacturer, today released the new GENE-HD05 3.5” SubCompact Single Board Computer with a selection of onboard AMD G-Series™ dual/single core T56N/T40E/T40R processors and the AMD A50M controller hub. This small form factor SBC delivers superb graphics performance and hardware acceleration at relatively low power. With a rich array of I/Os and support of DirectX® 11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenCL™ 1.1, the GENE-HD05 offers stunning 3D visual effects and dynamic interactivity making the board ideal for high quality video monitoring and control in Intelligent Automation Systems, or powering advanced Interactive Multi-Screen POS and Kiosks for retail and hospitality markets.

The GENE-HD05 supports one DDR3 1066 SODIMM (1333 for the T56N version) up to a maximum of 4GB of memory, and features one VGA, one HDMI, one 18/24/36/48-bit dual-channel LVDS, 2-channel High Definition Audio, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two SATA 3.0Gb/s, one CFast™, eight USB2.0, four COMs, one Parallel port, one programmable 8-bit Digital I/O, onboard 4/5-wire Resistive Touch Screen controller, onboard SIM card slot, and optional onboard Trusted Platform Module.  It also has a full size Mini Card slot that can be configured through BIOS settings to support either mSATA for storage/OS or Mini PCI Express expansion modules.



“Aside from the great graphic features with integrated graphics to decode H.264, MPEG2 and VC-1 video, the GENE-HD05 comes with a full range of OS support of legacy WinCE 6.0 and latest Windows® 8 alike and can be monitored with the free powerful Hi-Safe program,” says Eric Wang, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Computer Division. “GENE-HD05 is also unique with its onboard SIM card slot that lowers cost of interface modules for system integrators whenever this feature is required,” Eric adds.  

Status Monitoring using Hi-Safe
AAEON Hi-Safe is a free and powerful hardware-based program geared toward SDKs for UIs running Microsoft® Windows® Operating systems.  It provides an easy way to develop the end user’s own UI software to monitor vital system information such as those for the processor, RAM and VGA.  It monitors received data from the Super I/O, fan, temperature and voltage, offers configuration options for Digital I/O pin direction and data, provides watchdog timer and fan speed settings, SMBus base address detection and device ID settings, optional monitoring of UPS data information and offers two modes for backlight display control if one uses the LVDS interface.  Based on the user interface SDK, no coding is needed and customers can create their own customized user interface by downloading the function codes provided by AAEON.

ACD-521D21.5-inch Full HD Infotainment Multi-Touch Display

AHP-2122 and AHP-2153New Rugged Fanless Panel Computers
AAEON, a leading industrial computing manufacturer, released today two new rugged panel computers: AHP-2122 and AHP-2153. The AHP wide-temperature series comes in three sizes –12.1”, 15” and 17”, and the 12.1” and 15” Rugged Panel Computers have been launched first.  Due to the various support on panel size options, OEM and ODMs have a variety of size options to select from.  Moreover, the current AHP-2122 and AHP-2153 support panel, wall, desktop and VESA 100 for optimal display mounts.

The AHP-2122 is a 12.1” Rugged HMI Touch Panel Computer with Intel® Atom™ D525 processor and has two Gigabit Ethernet ports for Ethernet connections.  Also included is one DDR3 SODIMM with a maximum of 4GB system memory. Moreover, AHP-2122 has two COM ports, four USB ports (two in front), one Line-out and one VGA port for plenty of peripheral interfaces. Furthermore, this fanless panel computer supports VGA and DVI-D (no DVI output) for display options.
The AHP-2153 is a 15” Rugged HMI Touch Panel Computer and employs the 3rd generation Intel® Atom™ D2550 processor. This fanless panel computer provides up to 4GB of DDR3 memory.  Moreover, AHP-2153 utilizes Gigabit Ethernet for speedy internet access while employing a CompactFlash™ slot and a 2.5” SATA HDD port for abundant storage.  AHP-2153 supports six USB ports, two COM ports, one Mini Card, one Line-out and one VGA port for interface options.
